How to store tapes and adhesives during winter months

Now is the perfect time of year to do a quick check around the workplace to make sure any stocks you have of tapes or adhesive products are stored properly.

Many adhesives can 'go off' if they get too cold, meaning they will lose their stickiness. To avoid having to bin ruined stock, it's best to arrange suitable storage now before the really cold nights arrive. This is especially important if your stock of adhesive products is kept in an unattended and unheated location such as a warehouse.

Products we carry that can be affected include:

Most tapes

Stretch wrap

Handy wrap

Document enclosed pouches

Parcel labels

Adhesive mouldings

Euro slot hanging tabs

If it's just not practical to move your tapes and adhesives to a warmer location, then at least try and raise them off the floor on to shelves or stacked on top of other things, especially in concrete floored premises.

Another handy tip is to simply order smaller quantities on a more frequent basis, so you are not storing them yourself for too long. Quality packaging suppliers (such as ourselves!) will be keeping stocks at manufacturer recommended temperature ranges to ensure your order arrives with you in perfect condition.

If you're not sure whether any of your stock might be at risk of the adhesive going off, you're welcome to contact us for advice.
